The Government has extended the deadline for families to apply for the new Enhanced Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) to May 15, 2015. Under proposed legislation, the Government is increasing and expanding the UCCB in 2015 by providing up to $1,920 per year for each child under the age of 6, and introducing a new benefit of up to $720 per year for children aged 6 through 17. In many cases, the increase will be automatic, but if your family situation has changed or you are not already receiving the UCCB for all children your care, you may need to apply.
